Titanium Bar
Titanium Bar
We carry a large variety of 6al-4v Grade 5 and CP Grade 2 bar in both certed and surplus stock. These bars are known for their excellent strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature performance. The bars are usually processed through forging, rolling, or extrusion to achieve the desired shape and properties.
Due to its combination of corrosion resistance, moderate strength, and formability, CP Grade 2 Titanium bar is an economical choice for applications where high corrosion resistance and biocompatibility are needed due to its combination of corrosion resistance, moderate strength, and formability, especially in environments exposed to saltwater or chemicals.
6Al-4V Grade 5 titanium, also known as Ti-6Al-4V or simply Grade 5 titanium, is an alloy of titanium with 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. This grade is one of the most widely used titanium alloys because of its excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight properties. Grade 5 titanium is known for its impressive tensile strength, which is about twice that of aluminum alloys. It is also much lighter than steel. It offers exceptional resistance to corrosion, especially in marine environments and various chemical exposures. Due to its inert nature, it’s suitable for medical applications, particularly in implants and surgical tools. This alloy can withstand high temperatures up to around 400°C (752°F), making it suitable for aerospace and high-performance automotive applications. Applications range from aerospace and marine components to biomedical implants and high-performance automotive parts.
